The 32 inch LCD TV has been the most popular size in consumer purchases until recently, when more and more people have turned to larger screens. Still, a 32 inch screen is perfect for almost any size room and any location within the home, offering a large, high quality picture without overwhelming or dominating the space. Almost every manufacturer has at least one 32 inch model, and many have two: the original but not outdated 720p definition and the newer 1080p clarity.

Choosing the brand you wish to purchase is a very personal decision. Things to consider are whether or not the brand has a good reputation, price point, available options on the television, the number of HDMI inputs you’ll desire, and what other inputs are available. When you’ve settled on a brand, you’ll want to ask yourself what the main purpose of the screen is so you can decide the definition you wish to have.

If you are simply going to use the 32 Inch LCD TV as a monitor for your home computer and perhaps watch basic cable on it, then 720p will suffice, saving you a few dollars in the long run. After all, something is sure to surpass 1080p in the next few years, and you’ll probably want to upgrade again at that time. With the 720p models, you can also enjoy DVDs at their highest resolution. However, while BluRay discs and games can function just fine and provide great imaging at this lower resolution, they are created to perform at 1080p. This will offer clearer, more definitive movements, especially during swift moving action scenes and more clarity to detail.

The choice is yours, and there are a number of factors that can weigh in on your decision, not the least of which is budget. Because the 720p technology has essentially be replaced by televisions that offer both standards of high definition, the price point on these models is lower. At the same time, you may not feel you are saving enough to justify not getting the 1080p model of the 32 inch LCD TV that you want.
